Today's fest featured extreme weather in the form of heavy rain. Chris Li arrived first and brought a batch of 24x30" full color tractorfest posters. Ethan showed up next and we started the tractor. The muffler steamed as the motor warmed up and continued to do so as the rain kept it wet. After checking the mail, we ascended into the woods and returned to the road via the gap in the stone wall. There we encountered deep water with some mud. The new $12 v belts were slipping and smoking in the excessively damp conditions so we returned to the barn and lowered the transmission for a better grip. At this time Graeme, Gabin, and Brian joined the attendance and we ascended the main trail into the woods. The recent transmission adjustment proved ineffective as forward motion was still an occasional struggle. Before reaching the turnaround, we went baja and experienced the standard encounters with trees, rocks, stumps, brush and logs. Then we bajaed to the stone wall crossing, rode the bull, and returned to the yard to pick up the Bartons and Medora. We enjoyed a second trip to the stone wall gap at the road side where two separate loads of passengers were shuttled across the water. Then we loaded up a big TV that had been stashed in some thick pines and journeyed to TV cliff. Shortly after arriving at the cliff, the TV was tossed and it smashed onto the rocks below. The screen didn't break so it was tossed a second time. Then we returned to the tractor and ascended back to the turnaround. This was followed by a high speed descent of the main trail and everyone enjoyed the bumpy ride. We returned to the road just as Vin arrived. Vin's parents were amused at seeing us wet and we returned to the woods after the Bartons departed. We descended the 35 degree embankment near the highway overpass. It was fun so we did it a second time. Then we returned to the yard and distributed the new posters to conclude X Fest.
