Today the motor had some starting troubles but we persisted with the ether and eventually got it running. We ascended the main trail and Matt, the last arrival, joined us upon reaching the turnaround. Our journey continued down the other side of Mount Tractor and we eventually made it to the washing machine monument which was still standing over six feet high. The helium tank was hung back onto the side and we had a brief discussion about fest related stuff. Vanessa departed early and we ventured in the direction of the guy in the woods trail with Brett shotgun. On the way we experienced the best tree destruction in Tractorfest history. The tractor impressed all by mowing down many large dead tree trunks that were up to a foot in diameter. Some were quite tall and provided dramatic results when they crashed to the ground. One especially large fir tree broke in half while it was collapsing and set off a chain reaction. The top half of the fir tree contacted and broke another large pine tree in half creating an epic two stage event. The second tree fell in the manner of a skyscraper that had been detinated with explosives. We paused to laugh and I made a victory salute (like in a bicycle race). That event was followed by the destruction of another large pine tree that was impressive enough to pause for another victory salute. Then we crossed the stonewall and Brett was almost ejected from his shotgun position when the rear wheels bounced up off the rocks. We jetted downhill on the guy in the woods trail and took a larger trail back to the road. Some road tractoring brought us to the barn where we lowered the transmission to tighten the drive belts. Shannon departed and we ascended the main trail and went baja in search of Danielle cliff. During our unsuccessful search we ran over plenty of small pine trees as we rolled strong along the southern slopes of Mount Tractor. Eventually we returned to the main trail and ascended to the turnaround for the traditional high speed bone jarring descent. It was fast and like ususal, we used neutral. Derrik fell off during the excitement and once he caught up we went to the stonewall and crossed it with momentum to spare. Tight navigation brought us to the bull where Matt was ejected and another bumpy neutral drop followed. We capped off this quality fest by ramming a large dead tree several times in a vain effort to make it collapse. A six foot length eventually fell off the top leaving us with plenty of tree to ram in the year 2000.
